Chirstians Should Not Hate Muslims

Look at the following verses:

Genesis 15:20
20: And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Genesis 25:16-18
16: These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. 17: And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people. 18: And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren.

There is more to this story. I would suggest reading all of Genesis. It tells me that God did promise His blessing on the decendents of Ishmael...

You must be 35 years of age to run for president.

Christians should not hate anyone. Jesus said love your neighbor and even love your enemy. It can be difficult for Christians to show love to Muslims because there is so much of a history between the two groups that is anything but pious. But it has become essential to develop this love where little has existed before. We face a world armed with nuclear weapons and terrorists who will use them. If we can not build bridges now I fear our fragile planet will not last much longer. I love Muslims, and I pray for peace.

Great verses...unfortunately too many people pick and choose what verses they will and won't obey.

To commentor "mark" - you speak of "a world armed with nuclear weapons and terrorists who will use them." I wonder of whom you speak when you say "terrorists?" From the perspective of many innocent civilians in Iraq, America very well could be that "terrorist" that is willing to use WMDs. (by many, I mean tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands)

From the perspective of many Israelis, it is Palestinians and Hamas that are "terrorists", though these people have never perpetrated violence against other nations. The reverse is true of Palestinians that see Israelis as "terrorists."

If people wish to really build bridges, it would help to avoid using politically loaded terms that evoke anger and fear.

Love them, but don't be blinded by it.

Thank you! There's such a stink over a Muslim (horror or horrors!) being elected to Congress. Muslims have been part of American life for years. I live in a neighborhood with a lot of Muslim immigrants. Christians and Muslims can live side by side.
